2026 04 16 – CBC Edmonton included my short interview about my Stop ADAP paper petition (5,674 signatures), along with a photo of me, in their online article titled Municipalities call on Alberta government to pause changes to disability benefits.
They quoted me as saying, “Programs like AISH are designed to remove the pressure of working so that people can focus on managing serious mental health conditions,” adding, “When too much pressure is put on me, I tend to destabilize and fall apart.”

2026 04 14 – My Stop ADAP Save AISH paper petition, with its 5,674 signatures, is tabled in the Alberta Legislature by my MLA, Sharif Haji (Edmonton–Decore), while I am introduced as a guest sitting in the Speaker’s gallery. The event is broadcast on Alberta Assembly TV.
My name, “Darryl Learie,” along with mention of the paper petition (“over 5,600 signatures”), the online petition (“over 7,000 Albertans”), and my quote, “I am fighting for a more compassionate society,” becomes part of the official Hansard transcript.

During the press conference, I make the comment: “The tabling of this petition of 5,674 signatures means that over 5,000 voices opposing ADAP have officially become part of the legislative record, making them that much harder to ignore.”

2026 04 03 – Global News Edmonton at 6:00pm broadcast my TV interview of my Stop ADAP Save AISH paper petition with it’s 5,674 signatures being delivered to the Alberta Legislature.

2026 03 30 – The Stop ADAP Save AISH paper petition, with its 5,674 signatures, is delivered to the Alberta Legislature and enters the legislative process. MLA Marie Renaud shares my personal Facebook post of me holding the 5,674 signatures on her page.
Popular political social media influencer Lisab0923 (105,100 followers on TikTok and 10,200 subscribers on YouTube) advocates for my petition on October 31, 2025, and features my petition website in a video on March 10, 2026. On March 11, 2026, MLA Marie Renaud, Shadow Critic of Community and Social Services, shares Lisab0923’s video featuring my petition website on her Facebook Story.
My online petition opposing ADAP also receives $5,817 in donations from 346 supporters to help advertise it further, reaching 7,377 signatures.

2024 07 15 - CTV News Edmonton interviewed me on TV for my volunteer work for Google Maps and Google Street View (Contributing to Google Street View dressed up as an alien).
